Default 2 Hard Drives

I'm building a new computer and I have two hard drives. I want to have one drive just running the OS and system files etc. and the other to run games, music, pictures and so on. I have no clue on how to do this, so I just thought I would ask someone more knowledgeable. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

Sure, install the OS on one of the hard drives, and then just format the other one when you get into Windows or w/e OS you're gonna use

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

Here is a link on how to format your main drive.

How to partition and format a hard disk in Windows XP

When you have formatted main disk, logon to windows open my computer and the slave drive should appear in there.Right click on the slave drive and scroll to format, click on format you can choose check box quick format.Click ok a warning will popup you will loose all data just click continue.Your drive will be formatted as a slave.

Good luck.

Thanks!
Should I have the first drive be the master then? Also I would like to partition my main drive into 4 partitions, so that I could have multiple Operating Systems on it. How would I do that?

You set main as master and set second as slave.

You would have to create a dual boot to have multiple operating systems. Here are some links that should help you on your quest for dual booting.

Thanks for the links. I haven't read them yet, but what I would like to do is to have four partitions on the main drive, one for Linux, one for Windows 98, one for XP, and then one for Vista if in the future I get it. Would this even work? I may just scratch the 98, we'll see.
