PLZ HELP Kinda Newb "Fudged" reformatted HDD
Ok, my story. Its a sad one, at least for me, but, about two weeks ago I was on my computer and I never really play with any of the features that came pre-installed on my HD, so I thought I would look around and see what I could find. I came across The Intel Matrix Storage Manager and read a little about it and it said in by running this so called "raid" system that my computer would run faster. So I thought about it, and realized that my computer was running a little slower, so I started it and once it finished it rebooted and wouldn't load to Vista. It came up with something like raid error on 1 or something to do with the second hard drive and then I tried to do a system restore and it wouldn't allow me to. Then I went into the System Configuration screen that gives you the option to go to when your comp. loads up, so I went there and it had the option to do a system restore there as well. Yes, that is when I started to cry, when I saw the screen come up with System Reformatting. So, to make a long story short- (too late! I know, I know, we've all seen Clue.) I read through some of the forums on here and came across one user recommending Power Data Recovery to pull the items That I want back. So heres the pickle that I am at now, I checked both of the hard drives and some files seem to be split onto several different Partitions and on different Hard Drives. I am not going to lie, the main thing that I want to get back are my pictures. The Adult Content That I have on here would be great to get back to but that is the least of my worries. When I am searching through, I find some of the pics, but it doesn't come up in the preview, so I am wondering if they are pretty much destroyed or if there is anything that I can do to salvage them. PLEASE HELP. Oh and another thing after scanning the second Hard Drive, all of my Desktop Icons have disappeared now! WTF!!! I am so sorry for making this so long, its jus that its easier to get to the answers when you have all of the information presented to you. Thanks in advance.
