Default [Answered] Sata hard drive and dvd as removable devices

Hey all

I just got a sata hard drive and dvd burner and works fine but the thing is that it show up in the removable device (like with a usb key)
And I also get a message saying that I have exeeded the usb bandwith
Is this normal and are both problems related?

Im running Windows XP Pro sp2 on :

Mobo: Asus A8N sli deluxe
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+
HDD: Maxtor 80 GB (IDE) WD 80GB (IDE) WD 250GB (Sata)
DVD: Pioneer dvd-rw dvr-212d
USB: usb to playstation controller adapter, webcam, scanner, recharge cable for razer v3c, external sound card (make and model unknown)

Hey ghost,

Any device that can be removed is classed as "Removable Storage". CD-ROM's are classed as Removable Storage because you can remove the CD at any time. Any storage devices connected via USB is as Removable Storage device because you can unplug it and take it with you at any time. Hot Swappable Hard Drives are classed as Removable Storage because... I think you get the picture.

You do seem to have a lot connected via USB. Do you have front USB ports you can use?

I have my ps2 adapter connected on the front usb and all the rest is on the onboard usb
but thanks for the info on removable device list
