Angry [Resolved]SATA II secondary Drive does not work!

OK here is the problem (great re-design btw, i haven't been on this site for almost a year!)

-Installed a SATA II Western Digital HD for for first time but with no luck.
-I enabled the SATA thinggy in the BIOS (it was on disable)
-I installed the Western Digital utility tool thing and it says it only sees 1 Hard Drive (the main drive with WIN XP PROF)
-I installed some RAID driver and utility software from my motherboard manufacturer (MSI K8MM-ILSR) and it says there are no extra drives installed.
-Under Device Manager there is 2 exclaimation marks next to SCSI and RAID Controller
-I did an "update drivers" to fix the above issue in Device Mannager but XP PRF couldn't find anything.

No idea where to go from here.

Someone please help! Thanks

SYSTEM:
Motherboard: MSI K8MM-ILSR
Processor: AMD
OS: WIN XP PROFESSIONAL

Does it show up in disk mangement?

If you are simply installing a secondary drive, boot into Windows. In Windows 2000/XP/Vista, your new drive will not appear at all in My Computer until you format it. In Windows 9x/ME, it will appear, but you will need to right-click on the new drive and choose “Format” from the menu. To format the drive in Windows 2000 or XP, right-click on My Computer and go to “Manage”. In the window that comes up, click Disk Management in the left pane. Once it loads, you should see an “Initialize Disk” wizard pop up. Partition and format the disk to your liking, but make sure not to convert it to a dynamic disk, as doing so will provide plenty of annoyances down the road.

the link shows you how to fit and configure second sata drive and troubleshoot.

Default Re: SATA II secondary Drive does not work!

I propably have the exact same problem. Bought the HD just now. Plugged it in to the SATA cable and connected it to the Motherboard. The HD for some reason didn't have a power input like the left one in this pic http://atechfabrication.com/images/h...%20145-640.jpg
It only had a smaller one exactly to the right of the SATA input. The only power cable I could fit into it was the floppy disc one so I disconnected the floppy and put the power cable into the HD, which is the one on the right, not the left one in this pic: http://atechfabrication.com/images/h...%20145-640.jpg

And well when it boots it says something bout raid and only sees one drive and in drive managment its no where to be seen. Any help? I need the HD

Didn't set it as slave since there's no jumper when I bought it and it says that SATA drives don't need jumpers to configure slave and master.

I'm pretty sure its plugged in good since I unplugged it and plugged it in again.

Any crazy trick to see if it gets power or where else the problem lies?

Default Re: SATA II secondary Drive does not work!

When I go into the RAID configuration utillity it has the following options: Create Set, Delete Set and 2 others don't remember.
When I press create set it says: Not enough single drives to create RAID set

Here are the options(taken from google, not mine)
Only in mine there's only one drive underneath.
0 is empty and 1 has a star on the left(which makes it First HDD) and the HD number on the right PS. My drive is a WD. But I'll check the links anyway

PS. The only thing that shows an exclamation mark in device manager is a PnP Bios Extention.

Also the BIOS has no reference to SATA or RAID anywhere...
