I recently took apart my computer to clean out the dust. (there was a lot)
but when i connected everything back together and booted it up......it says "cannot detect IDE drives"
WHAT!!!???? why not?
i connected everything back to where they go
(there was a connection that did break though...but it was the audio connect cable from the dvd rom to the motherboard...but i managed to put the cable into the slot) but still....that wouldnt have anything to do with it.....RIGHT???
HI there must be a problem with the lead between the hard drive and the mainboard or maybe the master / slave jumper was knocked off during the clean out or maybe the power lead for the drive is the drive spinnig up?
well i did unplung some cables that were near where it says "lead" and "reset" maybe i plugged them in wrong? not sure
but when i start up..the drive spins up yes..very fast
i need to figure it out
please help lol
i just unplugged the power soure to the cd and dvd rom.
but those long flat grey cables are still connected to the cd and dvd rom still.
but on start up i get this now.
Primary Master=WDC WD400EB-00CPF0-06.04G06
Primary Slave=NONE
and the rest say none as well
the hard drive revs up pretty loud now and its really fast
boot up wont even initiate
