Default Spin with a weird loud sound...
I have a 40GB of Western Digital IDE Hard Drive Model WD400BB-00GFA0. When I connect it to my pc, the bios didnot detect it at all but the hard disk spin with a weird loud sound. Too loud you may think it already faulty. What seems to be the problem? Can anyone help me?

Hello and Welcome to PCHF

If the drive is not seen in the BIOS chances are the drive is bad. You cannot even run any tests if it is not seen.
1 thing to try is to totally remove the jumper off the drive, WD are known for being goofy with their jumpers. How do you have it configured now? Is it a master on the secondary or slave on the primary?
