have acer 3690-290,just removed hard drive (60gb), repaced with new 120 gb hard drive, bios recognises new hard drive. have dvd/ cd recovery factory disks to restore windows vista home op system on new drive but must first create a primary dos partition before using recovery disks. best way to set up new partition on clean hard drive?

Hi and welcome to PCHF

The easiest way is thru the OS setup...although if you can't do that, go here: Bootdisk.Com grab a bootdisk and use fdisk to setup the partitions in DOS.
