Hard Drives - windows says 160gb hitachi is 32gb? posted in the Hardware forums; [EDIT] checked the jumpers, one was on wrong. case solved, sorry for the waste of time to anyone who tried to help....

[EDIT] checked the jumpers, one was on wrong. case solved, sorry for the waste of time to anyone who tried to help.

What version of windows do you have? If it's Windows 98 then that's the largest it recognizes

tinyxp is a small version of xp designed for computers under the recommended specs. for example, i run it on my 500mhz home pc. its xp but it has a lot of stuff [like drivers] removed.

this is so funny! upon further inspection, one of the jumpers was on sideways, i misread the diagram on the hdd so it wasnt on master, infact im not sure what it was on.
either way it reverted to a 32gb size. as soon as i put it right the other space appeared. im re-formatting and reinstalling now.
