hi...
blew my pc up yesterday, a drop of water from the watercooling got into Power Supply Unit and..bang...gutted.
was hoping the Power Supply Unit would have isolated rest of system but it appears not to have.
just plugged 1 of my wd 150gb raptors in other pc, got a lot of work on there for my business..unfortunately it started to smoke...

dead....ooo nooo.

does anyone know of a company that can either repair/or extract the lost files from it?

my wife has been doing work on it for weeks and when i say she doesn't understand what an accident is...welll

i live in the uk btw.

please help.

Hi Born, I've been told these are good: Hard Disc Drive (HDD) Recovery - Flash Guardian

but data recovery is not cheap. HDD recovery is cheaper in the states. You can expect to pay around £50 or more by sending your HDD to the states, or around £100 from UK based recovery companies.

Hey bornslippy,

I had your exact problem with one of my raptors ( I know the frustration cause their not cheap)

Is the SATA connection burnt out? And do you have another Hard drive shell? I was able to take the platter inside my raptor and put it in another SATA 150 shell and retrieve my info from it..

Harddrive Rescue - The Hard Drive Failure & Data Recovery People, dont know if they're good though...
