Howdy coolieo and welcome to PCHF..

Did your motherboard come with a driver CD? When installing windows you will notice on the bottom it will say press F6 to install raid or scsi drivers.

You will need a floppy to do this..
But would like to know if your mobo came with a cd first..

Yes i have the driver disk, but i have tried it and it isnt working.

The bios does not seem to load, so the photo that i added says.

The board i am using has RAID SATA, does that mean i have to have 2 identical hard drives running mirrored? As I only have the one hard drive.

When I try to load the drivers in XP setup it just says that it cannot find any connected hard drives

Download the application below and burn it to cd and you might have to format the hard drive first before Windows will read it..

As far as Raid yes you need 2 of the same hard drives but you do not have to have Raid enabled so you dont need to worry about that.

Ultimate Boot CD - Download the UBCD

Run one of the Hard drives diagnostic tools (whatever type of Hard drive you have)

Another thing ..The BIOS will not load at all? If this is so you may have a bad ROM chip.

Hmm, I'll try that cd when i get home.

About the bios, would that mean that my mobo needs replaced? Of would a re flash of the bios do the trick?

I cannot even get into the setup utility when the computer is still booting up to setup the drive, so I assume that that cd will not find the drive either, but anything is worth a try.

I will post the result of how the cd goes.

Thanks for the help so far

As for BIOS, iot is all stored in A ROM chip.. Not RAM..It is a little black box on the motherboard usually where the sticker of the manufacturer is . And if that goes bad you either have to buy another one (cheap but very hard to do sometimes as it involves sodering) or get a new mobo.Lets hope thats not the case.
