Default [Pending] Blue screen!!!

Hi, while i was using my computer. I heard several clicking noises, then came the lag response time when i drag my mouse across the screen. Finally the typical exception error at (!#@#@$$%^&*) blue screen popped up, after several attempts at booting up i was automatically restarted by a flicker of the blue screen when i hit the window's xp logo before the log on screen. In addition once the bios has complete scanning all the hardware, it would come to this display screen: Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)

Start Windows Normally

Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.
Seconds until Windows starts: 30

Choosing any of the above choices automatically translates to the a restart.
May i know how do i overcome this nuisance? and may i know how this situation would derive from, how may i prevent it from recurring? By the way i am currently using a WDC WD2500KS-00MJB0

1. The following computer jargon seems a bit far-fetched for a noob like mysefl, thus would anyone here kindly explain what do they mean:

a. Dynamic Drive Overlay

b. Convert existing BIOS overlay driver it installed to the Dynamic Drive Overlay.

c. How would Hiren's BootCD aid in this kind of situation.

Heya Lebron,

Just going with the fact that you heard clicking says to me your hard drive is failing. Next time you boot up, hit F8 over and over till you get the boot options. Then hit the option that says disable reboot on system failure. That will cause it to stay on the blue screen next time it fails during startup. Note then what the blue screen says.

From that model number, it looks like you have a Western Digital hard drive. I would go to their website and download their hard drive diagnostic tool and run it. It should be free and it will test the integrity of the hard drive.

See what happens from there

From the blue screen of death, i have noted down the essentials of the message leaving the geneirc rest out. "The Technical Information are as follows: *** STOP: 0x000000F4 ( 0x00000003,0x85146590,0x85146704,0x805FA160 )" So based on the above information provided and coupled with a diagnose from western digital's diagnostic tool would we be able to find out whether is my hdd be liable for overhaul or is there yet another inter-twined hardware related problem. Cause after i did a recovery on my win xp, it still seem jitterish thus i have decided to reformat it.

You can also try Memtest86 (click my link) to run a memory diagnostic. I did a search for that stop code and it seems a fair number of cases relate to errors in memory.

yeah. clicking is BAD

Try also, looking at the RAM- could explain the lagging.

Or the processor.
