Default [Resolved] Format 320GB HDD to FAT32

I want to use my external drive on Xbox 360 but I have recently found out it only reads FAT32 not NTFS

Since Windows XP doesn't format to FAT32 by default, how else could I do it?

(I also heard Win98 won't do it because it's such a big drive).

Your right, Windows 98 will only format up to 127gb, and the format utility will only format up to 32gb.

A utility like Partition Magic would easily perform this task, but there are free alternatives.

I have not tried this utility myself, but have a look at this site: Ridgecrop Consultants Ltd

Usage:
- Extract the utility to c:\
- Go to Start, Run and type in cmd
- In the command window type c:\fat32format [drive:]

You should also check to see what came with your hard drive. Those often include some sort of utility that can do almost anything with your drive.

Worked, thanks, and with Xbox!

(I did try that partition magic and it wouldn't do it )
