Default Moving files from cousin's hard drive

My cousin messed up her windows in her comp so i am going to have to restore it but i want to try to move some of her files on my comp b4 hand. I connected it as a slave drive and i can see the files but when i try to move the files it says i do not have permissions to do this. I have already gone to the securities tab and made me owner but still nothing. I am on Vista Ultimate can someone please help, i dont want her to lose all her documents

Can you try this
  1. Click the Window circle
  2. Click All Programs: Accessories
  3. Right-click on Command Prompt and select "Run as administrator"
  4. Elevate
  5. Run this command: icacls d:\ /grant BUILTIN\UsersOI)(CI)(M)
Did that work?
