Default [Pending] SATA 2 Backward Compatible?

May i know if the following hdd manufactured are SATA 2 and backward compatible? Seagate 250BG 72000 RPM 16MB CACHE and Western Digital Company 250 GB 7200 RPM 16MB CACHE. Among this 2 manufacture plus HDD from Hitachi and Samsung which are the commerical world more reliable hdd makers?

All SATA2 is designed to be backwards compatable with SATA1 ports.

I only get Western Digital and Seagate hard drives for my computers....they're the leaders in my opinion.

I have two external Western Digital Company HDD. Haven't had any problems with either of them.
