Default Windows XP won't install on SATA HD

First off my hardware,

Windows XP sp2
733mhz p3
256MB RAM
2 GB IDE HD
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s
Koutech PSA150 PCI SATA Dual Channel Host Controller Card RAID 0/1

Computer Specs: HP Pavilion 8760C Desktop PC -  Product Specifications and What Ships in the Box

HD Specs:
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

SATA Controller Card Specs:Newegg.com - Koutech PSA150 PCI SATA Dual Channel Host Controller Card RAID 0/1 - Retail

I just got my 250gb hard drive and controller card. I partitioned the 250 gig hard drive using a partition tool from Western Digital, and it can write and read files just fine. The raid bios can see the hard drive find too. I even put a jumper on the back of the hard drive to limit it to 1.5gbs.But here's my problem

If my hard drive is plugged in via SATA cable windows xp install won't boot, goes black, and then says "PRESS A KEY TO REBOOT" on infinite loop. If I disconnect the SATA cable to the drive windows install will go through just fine. Hence I can't install windows on my SATA hard drive

I would just use the IDE hard drive, but it crashes every 45 min to 2 hours. So that's not really an option. Bleh.....

Thanks for you help

Hi Eightbitgnosis, welcome to the PCHF.

When you're installing Windows, it will ask you to push F6 for 3rd party RAID drivers.
You will need to press this and have drivers ready on disk to install windows on your new hard drive.

Let me know if you need a hand locating the drivers.
