Question Can I create a virtual a-drive?

I have been working with Microsoft Fortran since the early 90's-- my own copy. Since fortran is a dying language, this version is no longer supported, and I'm hoping not to have to learn a new language, I want to load my software onto my new computer, which doesn't have an a-drive. The application appears to be able to work in Windows XP, which is my operating system.

I copied the 3 installation disks to 3 cd's, but the software is expecting the a-drive, not the e-drive. I searched for utilities that create virtual drives, but the ones I found allowed for creating drives starting at the letter D, which is no help. Any suggestions?

Thanks-- Mickey G

Hi there,

If you have 32 bit windows you could try this, you should hopefully be able to change the drive letter.

VM Back

If however you can't get it working there are a number of free fortran compilers that may be useful to you.
