hi everyone, it's me again bothering you all, i would just like to know from anyone who has already changed a hard drive on an Acer Lap Top, mine is an Aspire 1363 model, but they might be all the same !.

I have a replacement hard drive ready to fit, i thought for a start it was under one of the two covers on the underside of the case, but it isnt, so i removed the Battery and it looks as if it is then accesible, it also looks as if there is a bit of flimsy plastic to pull to get it out, which is why i thought i would check here first, this bit of plastic doesnt really seem man enough to pull it out with !.

any ideas anyone ?.

Yeah, after reading around a little it seems you pull that plastic tab and the HD will come out.

I spent 30 mins looking for the service manuals and acer are f....ing useless.

The service manuals contain only chapter 7, 'Field replaceable units' which contains components and relevant serial numbers so thats not too much help.

You wouldn't believe how much of a pain it is to try and find the service manuals for that model notebooke

thanks lads, i got summat to go at now, i shall pluck up courage to pull the plastic tab just as soon as i can. thanks for going to so much trouble the two of you, i owe you a drink OK.
