Default Help MP3 HDD

Hey I have a Rio Karma MP3 player, its amazing, or it was untill it broke, just in the warranty, so naturaly i sent it back to be repaired, and they sent me a refurbished unit, which stoped working just after the 3month warranty provided with the replacement.

I have removed the orriginal Hitachi 20gb hdd, it has the laptop style connector but its physical size is smaller than that of a standard laptop hdd. I have thought of three options, but can not find the parts i would need to make these options, so ne help on locating parts would be great.

1. Relpace with annother HDD (original Hitachi unovalable, i cant find any others the correct physical size)

2. Buttcher the MP3 player, and make it in to a MP3 player for my component sterio using a standard 3.5 HDD, however i cant find a 2.5 to 3.5 HDD adaptor for connecting a 3.5 HDD to a 2.5 Device.

3. Use a SD memory card to IDE converter and use as an portable MP3 player. However again i cant find a 2.5 version

So any other ideas, or if anyone knows of any decent parts, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the PC Help Forum Phill.

unfortunately this is not an area we have knowledge in. We are PC and Windows experts, not mp3 players.

I personally have never heard of Rio Karma players.

So unless one of the other techs has any ideas, I'm affraid you're out of luck

If you decide to "butcher" it you might be able to find a cable adapter Here:
