Default [Answered] Western Digital or Seagate?

Ok, im looking to but a new hard drive for my computer and i have been looking around newegg and i came across two that i liked and i wanted to know if anyone would recommend one or the other. i have owned seagate drives for a long time just wanted to know if WD would be a good choice also. thanks for the help.

basically, you like ford or chevy? Both are pretty similar in performance; I'd go with the WD, but then I've never had one get sideways on me, so I like that. Having said that, I've also not had a Seagate go sideways on me, personally, but my wife has. But those are both pretty solid drives, it would appear. I bet you could take a poll and come out pretty even across the board.

Hi,

You're obviously after personal opinion as technically there really isn't a massive amount to separate them.

History tells me that WD has been good to me

thanks for the replies, i was leaning towards the western digital because it is a little cheaper. just needed some help to tip the scales in its favor. plus it will be my first sata drive, all my other hard drives are pata.
