Smile Can't write to my USB Drive

I have two Seagate USB external hard drives attached to my system. I copied all my files to these drives prior to setting up my new desktop PC. After I attached these hard drives to my new PC, and copied all my files to the new PC, I attempted to erase the external drives. I am unable to do so. It says that I'd don't have permission. Even when I log on as the adminstrator of the new PC, I still can't erase or write to the USB External drives. This same thing has occurred when I used a flash drive. It always says I don't have permission. Can you assist me in this manner.

Hello riemar, and welcome to the forum.
One of our techs will take a look at this for you shortly. In the meantime, can you follow these instructions to make sure your permissions havent changed somehow:

To add users for access to Removable Storage
Open Removable Storage.
In the console tree, right-click the specific item you want to add user access to, and then click Properties.
On the Security tab, click Add.
In the Select Users, Computers, or Groups dialog box, in Name, click the applicable users or groups, click Add, and then click OK.
Click the name of the user or group that you just added, and then do one of the following:
To change specific permissions, select or clear the Allow and Deny check boxes for each of the three levels of permissions: Use, Modify, and Control, as applicable.
To deny all permissions, click Remove.
Notes

To open Removable Storage, click Start and then click Control Panel. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management. In the console tree, double-click Storage and then double-click Removable Storage.
You can add user access to libraries, to media pools and their media, or to Removable Storage as a whole.
To add a user or group from a different domain, in Look in, scroll through the list, and then click a domain to search before clicking Add in Step 4.

Thumbs down Drive still unaccessable.

I attempted what was suggested but no luck. When I opened the libraries and Removable Storage I only saw the Iomega USB drive, my flash drive, and CD/DVD drives. The two Seagate drives were not listed. One of the Seagate drives is a 750 GB partitioned in one 500GB and one 250 GB. The second is a 500GB. None of these partitions were visible so I wasn't able to change security. It is true my user account did not have modify permission for the Iomega drive. This I changed and now I can delete files from the Iomega. However, nothing changed on the Seagate drives. To add to the mix, I have two 3 500 GB drives that are installed via SATA. They are partitioned into two 500GB Raid 5 drives. One of the drives is modifiable when I am putting "My Document" directory. The other 500GB drive I want to use solely for video work but can't write to this drive. Why would one drive have R/W permission but not the other? How can I correct this problem? I look forward to your assistance.

Ron

Default Correction

I want to correct a typo in my earlier comments. The Raid configuration is three drives, not two. They are configured as two 500GB Raid 5 Drives and are not visible as I said in the previous comment.
