this is expressly why I keep a b/u hd in an enclosure, and weekly sync them. I've lost data that I didnt' want to lose before, and learned the old credo 'data that isn't backed up is data you don't want' the hard way. I used to be so bad as to burn it to dvd's and store them in a safety deposit box.

but I'm not anal retentive. Honest.

heh....i never learn, but I do recognise the signs my hard drives are dying, and replace them quick smart...
i think i have a friend who knows someone that can take a look at it localy.

the really stupid thing is i knew it was dying and kept telling myself i would move it all over to my working hdd...i was just too lazy to do it.
