Hey MM,

Maybe Gar knows someone local who does that on the side, might be able to save caustic some money.

I'll PM him.

Hey guys....
FYI - clicking = bad...very unlikely to have any data on the disks recoverable even if you do manage to get windows to load up.

I know of a couple of hardware methods - but they're extremely expensive and the name of the companies in Australia which support them escape me right now...
But what they do, is they get your hard drive - get another IDENTICAL hard drive, replace the discs from the new hdd, with your ones...boot it up...copy the files accross...

Only problem was this was...it's expensive...firstly - you need to pay them for the 2nd hdd...and they used to charge alot for it...
I don't think data is worth that much unless you're a lawyer. I personally thing, caustic, that you're best to cut your losses, and start from scratch.

If you're in WA, feel free to send me a PM and i can take a look at the hard drive at work for you, but unfortunately it doesn't sound like there's alot of options left.

Limbs are good, caustic.

Please make sure to backup your files in the future, there was no way for you to anticipate this happening. I'm very sorry that you have lost all of those files.

We'll look forward to seeing you in the forums.

Marked as Resolved.

If you like, you can ship the hard drive over, and I can have a look at it still for you...but the chances are very slim (to say the least).

I also have lost many many hard drives in the past...and never think to back them up
heh....i never learn, but I do recognise the signs my hard drives are dying, and replace them quick smart...
