I'm sorry, but I need to know what it is in order to get you a proper driver and give you installation instructions (I found absolutely wonderfu ones, but I need to adapt your needed driver to them).
Hmm, simpler ways... If you haven't already formatted and have Windows XP, navigate to My Computer, right click on your Hard Drive and go to properties. I don't remember if it tells you the name or not, but if your computer is formatted, I guarantee that it would be easier to simply remove your Hard Drive from the bay and check the sticker for its make and model.
This site will tell you how to unmount your hard drive. Just follow the instructions until you can read the what the Hard Drive's brand and model is (where to find things will vary depending on what sort of hard drive you have, so there will be a white sticker on one side of your hard drive that you'll just need to jot down stuff off of and post here if you can't tel the make/model), and then once you've removed it, go backwards and put it in. I don't recommend taking out the IDE cable or the power cord, because that isn't really necessary just to figure out what kind of hard drive you have, and the power cord is a real pain to take out depending on which you use. Here's the site:

This is essentially what you are looking for on the hard drive. Notice the "Seagate" and "Model:" at the top of the sticker. Seagate is the make/brand, and that series of nmbers and letters next to "Model" is, obviously, the model.

Sorry to cause you so much trouble, but I really don't know any other way to check this...
Wait! I just thought of something. I'm leaving what I have above as a backup in case it doesn't work, though. Your BIOS should be able to detect what make and model your Hard Drive is. enter your BIOS and fiddle around the Hard Drive stuff until you find what make and model your Hard Drive is (as far as I know, it should just be listed as the name). Remember not to change anything, and when you exit the BIOS, say no when prompted to save changes or else something might happen (like if you accidentally alter something). If this fails, do what I posted above this.
If you are still running Windows XP or a previous version (not formatted yet), then get EVEREST. It's free and I love it. Tell me what it says about your Hard Drive. If you do not have Windows installed at all right now, just save yourself the hassle and find out from the BIOS or from opening your case.
