Unhappy MSI Neo2 vs Seagate Baracuda ST3250624AS 250GB

Good morning guyz!

PC:
Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz, Ati 9600 256mb, WD 120 Gb SATA, chipset i865PE, MSI 865 PE Neo2-PS (MS-6728 v2.0).

I have foll problem. Using my WD everything is OK! After installing my new Seagate Baracuda ST3250624AS 250GB and restarting, I could see the system identifying my new HD and thought all OK!. But Win XP with SP2 do not see it.. As if it is not there... Tried everything in BIOS, hardware changes but nothing worked...
Eventually, i booted from WINXP cd rom, i saw the HD, formatted it and then booted from my old WIN installation. Again I could not see it... All utilities do not see it.. [diskwizard, etc] P.S. In BIOS, the HD can be seen but not its particulars such as number of cylinders etc. PLease guyz help!!

Hello bonsai,

Welcome to PCHF.

If you go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management, can you not see your disk from there?

Device Manager? (Control Panel, System, Hardware tab, Device Manager).

Under the section "Disk drives", do your see your HDD there, or any other devices with exclaimation or question marks against them?
