Default hard drives.

HI my name is Mike. I had a hard drive that wouldn't let windows fire up, so i bought a new one. i was wondering what i could do to check the old one to see if it was just a virus that wouldn't let the computer load up or if it fried. I had a lot of usefull stuff on that hard drive. I have the cables needed to hook them up together but i don't know if i should or not. help please.

Welcome to PCHF!

If you want to check for viruses you can use an Anti-virus scanner and with the old drive connected just select that to scan it.

Free Anti-virus software:
