Try knoppix, or one of the other live distributions of linux. I use knoppix alot, and it works good. One of my favorites too, is Puppy Linux. It is a small distro, around 70mb, and loads into
ram, so after it boots, you can take the cd out and free up your drive for copying the data. It has burning programs that work well. Have a look here for download, and docs if you want to try it:
