May i know how do i rectify a corrupt MFT for my hard disk? As i have been experiencing this hiccup since a year and a half 4 times in total. May i know if there is a way on our end to check regularly, whether our hdd would fail on us anytime. What are the possible ways to resolve my corrupt hdd or risk formatting my entire hdd, but unable to recover my complete data with getback or prosoft engineering software.

Using your Windows XP setup disk, press R during setup and logon to your recovery console.

Try using the command, chkdsk /p
