Unhappy Hard disk unable to read?
My secondary harddisk a PATA maxtor 6y160po cannot be read by my computer it is displayed in the my computer desktop but requires me to format it. All my important information have not been backed-up yet and this problem only surface after i on my computer the second time today in the morning it was just fine is there any way to salvage all my data. i have used spinrite not knowingly how to exactly use it i just chose to recover unreadable data but to no avail please help me i'm am in a plight beyond my understanding.

Basketball is teh win...shame i can't play it anymore (stupid knee)

Anyway - Can you try and plug in the hard drive to another computer and access it off that?

You may need to format it and use an undelete program to get back the files.

No Need to panic! Lenron,


Try for some data recovery software like Stellar phoenix data recovery software.
Install the software in the Healthy Hard Drive, then strating scanning the affected hard drive with Stellar's software...

Software will show the files you can recover... You can buy the full version if you can see the files in the demo version....

& no need to worry as Stellar Phoenix is non-destructive read only software..
