Default Pri Master Not detected

major problem with my computer

first go
i put in the HHD and CD drive pluged in all the cables. i started it and it detected them fine (but hard drive had a virus, so removed it and installed a another HHD)

second go
i pluged in the new HHD and now it does not get detected. keeps coming up Pri Master not detected, this also says the same for the CD drive

now the interesting thing is, the CD drive has its little light on, but the CD drive will not open.

so i was thinking the power cables are stuffed and tried different ones (still using the same power supply). but still no luck.

does this sound like i need a new power supply. or am i not getting the power cables right.

Hey DrewTheBlack!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

Are you sure all the jumpers are set right?
Perhaps they're both set on slave and that will create conflicts.
