Question how to delete partition

hey i just wanted to know how to delete partitions off my hd i have a dell and it has partitions for recovery but i have the recovery cds so i dont need the partitions anymore

All you have to do is reigh click my computer...click manage...then disk management...then right click on the partition you want to deleete and repartition and click dlete partition.

i was thinking about deleting everything and starting fresh and what size should i make my new partition my hd is 160gb

Well thats a preference but I would go this way

XP 10 gigs
Programs 15 gigs (where you would install all of your programs)
Page 3 gigs
Music etc 50 gigs
10 giigs for documents and IE temp files
rest for some backup or whatever you want

Not a problem thats what were all here for, I need help from time to time as well. The first person to say they know everything is a liar!

Good luck and I will say your OS will run alot smoother if you do it that way.

Hi genie3251!
I'd get some more space for your OS, as several programs are automatically installed in C:\Program Files, and it's better to have some more free space on your system partition.
