Default Hard drive problems

Well, last time i was here wanting info i think i messed things up even more. Great advice only sorry application. I had a Matrix hd that went bad so i bought another, 250 gb. With this old, very old computer it won't support that much gb unless i have win 2000 or beter os. I have 98se. I installed the new hd and it says i need a ata /133 adapter for it to read all the hd. I got one and hooked everything up and it doesnt see the new hd . i cant get the drivers installed for the adapter. how do i get the driver disk to boot in DOS

Hi roper,

Can you boot into your BIOS (tap F1 or DEL on startup) and try detecting you HDD in there? If it can't detect it, try switching IDE sockets and see if it works then mate.

Hi roper!

So what operating system are you using, and where is your harddisk not recognized?

Im trying to use 98se. Not recognized at the new adapter. I couldnt setup the new adapter with its disk. The hd is recognized at the original IDE socket but has problems because it needs at least win 2000 or better or this ATA/133 adapter card. When I plug in to the new adapter the hd isnt showing up and I cant get the installtion disk for the adapter to start in CDROM even when BIOS is set for CDROM boot first. What next.

Howdy roper...
Did you take out the Hard drive and take the Jumper out of Master posistion and put it to 32 gigabyte capacity? This should cure this problem.

Carefull not to drop the jumper on the floor there hard to see lol.
