Hi guys! I currently using a IDE harddrive as my c:/ and I just got a seagate sata 2 harddrive and I want to install it as a d:/. How do I go about doing it? windows xp can't seen to detect my sata drive? Please Help! thanks!

Hello shellfish,
Did you get the SATA 3gb's oem or retail? You might need to install a driver for it. Also does you board support SATA 2 or SATA 150?

hi asa_sniper, Thank you , It worked. Just curious what about other brand of SATA2 drives? how do i install one?

I think western digital has them as does maxtor and seagate.
What worked? The instaltion?
TO install them just connect the sqaure end of the cable to the motherboard and the other to the Hard drive. Then use the flat SATA power to the power supply.

yup the instaltion worked, i can see the drive in my computer now.
