Default [Resolved] Problem seeing drives

Hi all,

I do not know a lot about computers and am grateful for this forum. I live in Ohio and love the information out there.
The current problem I have is when I plug my D drive in the system does not see any drives but if I unplug my D drive then the system sees my C drive.

System info:

CPU Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.4 GHz
Motherboard Asus
Memory 1GB
HDD 250 GB+ 80 GB
Video Radeon 9000
Sound Legacy
OS XP Sp2

I hope this info is correct since it is new to me on finding and getting the info.
Thanks,
DD1

Hya DD1 , welcome to PCHF.

Its indeed better to make a separete topic for youre problem , but is D: a cd drive or HD?

If its an HD , then make sure its jumper is set to either slave or cable select.

Hi DD1,

Welcome to PCHF!

Can you give us some information about both drives? Some Hard drives will point blank refuse to run as slaves, so the one you're setting as slave may still be acting as master, therefore refusing to acknowledge the 'real' master.

What are the makes and models of both, mate?

What happends if you unplug the C: , and attach only the second HD (as master) , does it show up in the bios then?

The D drive has always been a slave until I unplugged it to make a copy of my c drive to another drive and then when I hooked my original D drive up, my system would not recognize my C drive or my D drive but when I unplug my D drive my system will now recognize my C drive.
