Default ATA Slave

Hi Wunderbar1uk,
Welcome to the PCHF, yes you can have an ATA drive slaved in the system. Some of the Motherboards that support SATA only have one IDE Channel which makes life a little easier. A couple of things to be careful of:
1) make sure that the BIOS is set to boot from the SATA drive.
2) Make sure that the new/slave drive jumpers are set correctly (master/slave depending on wheather you have a cdrom or such on the same ide cable)
All the best and let us know if you need any more help.

Default Jumpers

Could you let us know what make and specs your hard drive is, so we should be able to give yo a better idea on the jumper settings.
Just to check, you installed the spare drive and when you booted up the email account was gone and lost all your favourites from IE???:icon_scra

 Hey Guys,

@Wonderbar, my welcome to PCHF as well. Chances are that for whatever reason you have lost the link to the Favorites file and not actually lost the file. Same for the account. You just need to redirect your browser.

What OS are you using? What program are you using for email?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW
