Unfinished Threads - how do i install a slave drive? posted in the Community forums; i am installing a slave drive for storage, i have it installed but i dont know how to do the jumper settings, my mother board is a intel D865GBF...
Newer machines have "cable select" setting which automatically sets the Last connector on a 2-connector ribbon cable as the master drive. Most new drives COME set this way today. If you want the old-fashioned jumper settings method... the jumpers are on the back of the DRIVE ---not on the motherboard-- the ones on the board are to clear your CMOS settings.
