My pc has two HD. One IDE and other is SATA. I installed the window on my IDE drive and my SATA is for storage. Now i want to Change my motherboard. I transfer some file from my IDE drive into SATA drive and replace the motherboard. I will use my IDE as a main drive, that mean it will be formated and install the OS in it. Now, i install the SATA drive with data/movie/other files from my old MB into this new MB. Will the SATA drive need to be formated inorder to be use on this new MB or just plug in and use it without formated and lose my files?

Basicly, i dont want to formate my SATA drive with files on it from my old MB and use it on my new MB without formated? is that possible?

can someone gave me some help here?
