hello. latley ive been getting the blue screen with the white writing. AKA "blue screen of Death" after i turn on my pc it will run about 30 minutes more or less and you will hear a wierd sound comming from inside the case. im not sure if its from the hard drive but i think it is. not sure though. its not really loud but enough to hear it and then after the sound is gone, about 3 seconds my pc will freeze and will go black. then the blue screen of death will appear and i will have to restart again. i repeat this prolly 5 times a day. note: i did a virus, spyware scan and disk clean up, etc. i have not installed any new programs, or hardware inside the case. the only thing that has changed in the last few days is my wireless router. i purchased a new one. thanks all. which i think has nothing to do with this "blue screen of death" appearance.

Can you describe the sound? Like is it a ticking , scratching , beebing or maybe just a high pitched sound?

And does it give any info on that bsod , like file names or error codes?

Also have a look if all the fans inside youre pc are still running , and have a look with one of these apps to see what the tempertures of youre pc are , and report them back here. (just after a bsod)

hello, thanks for responding.:hello2: the sound is sort of like a ticking sound but not that high pitched. its a tickingsound that does not have any repetition or pattern to it. its just some random ticking/alittle scratching sound for 3 seconds then... blue screen . all my fans (6) in my case are fine. the temp. in my pc is 31c. next time it gives me the BSOD (which i hope never happens) i will look at the codes and report back.

Also try to listen where the sound comes from but i have a feeling the HD is dead/dying. Run a diskcheck on it to see if that reports any errors , rightclick on the C: drive and select "properties" and then on the "tools" tab , select "check now". (you will have to reboot)

Hey thanks for your reply. i tried this and it took about 1 hour so i waited but it was worth. after i checked disk it automaically fixed all errors and then i defragged everything, and i totally cleaned out my pc. so fresh and so clean clean. and ever since i havnt gotten the BSOD. :hello2:

Good to hear youre up and running again. :smiley: But i would advise to think about replacing the HD , it could be its way of telling you its gona die soon im afraid.
