Hi there Sportsgeek , welcome to PCHF.

When switching the HD to an other pc , you have to reinstall windows , or windows trys to load the wrong settings and drivers for that pc.

But you shouldn't be getting an ntldr missing error though.

Did you replace or add the HD? And did you attach it as master (the end of the cable) , and set the jumper to master or cable select , if it wasn't already?

i replaced the HD and i am i attached it to the same place as my previous hard disk so i guess jumper and master/slave setting shud be the same as the previous one.

Then that should indeed still be setup correctly.
But you still need to reinstall windows after moving the HD to a new pc , you can't just keep using the windows install present from the previous pc.

If you need help with that , just give a yell.

not sure about linux, but if its in a diferent machine u definatly need to reinstall windows. if linux doesnt work either, then i would say probably reinstall it also, but i have no linux experience, so mayby there is a way around it.

hehe, sorry, misread your post.

to reinstall them both, i would fdisk, delete and recreate your partitions, install windows, and install linux on the other partition.
