yo.

i am trying to install an external hard drive via usb2, but it is not being recognised on my system. i have gone into disk management and i cant see it there (to partion&format it)

anybody know where im going wrong?

ps. i have checked the pc manual so im sure i have used the correct usb port for usb 2 [does usb2 have only one wire, my friend brought his external storge device round to mine, and his had 2 usb wires??]

Do you see any red/yellow question marks/exclamation points in youre device manager?

Also have you got the latest motherboard drivers and winupdates installed?
