Default [Answered] laptop hard drive to an IDE connection

i have an hp laptop which i broke so i decided to connect it up to my old PC (Packard bell club 40 windows 98) to have 2 hdd but the BIOS only finds 1 hard drive when i brough the connector to connect it please help me :cry:

You need to check out the jumper settings.
Make sure if you put the Laptop hardwdrive on the same strap that your first HD is set to master and your laptop harddrive to slave.
The harddrive is currently on 'cable select'

i have put my main hard drive to slave but it is not picking it up as the primary for the laptop

do u have msn

You have to set youre main hard drive to master and youre Labtop (second hd) to slave :-)

Maybe there are small dipswitches..
What brand and model is the harddrive?
