Supposedly my PC's boot sector has been corrupted. So the solution is to boot the Windows XP Install disc and then access the Recovery Console. The screen I need to do this at is suppose to look like this image below.

However, this is not the screen that I get. I get a simple blue screen that only says "Windows Setup" at the top and then at the bottom there is a bar where a ton of stuff is being loaded. After a minute or two it says that it is loading Windows. Moments later I get a dark blue error screen that tells me that Windows has been shutdown because of an error.

I tried doing this to both of my harddrives and got the same result with each. Is the problem with my motherboard and not the hard drive?

does it detail the error at all I.E. give any codes or anything

I've actually made some progress. I used the six floppy disks that Microsoft provides you with for XP to boot from. After the sixth disk was inserted I was actually able to get to that screen that I showed you above. Unfortunately from there when I hit R or even when I try to install XP it gives me an error that says it couldn't find any harddisks connected to my computer. My harddrives are, however, connected properly so I don't understand what the problem is.

My slave which doesn't have an OS on it works fine when connected to a friend's PC. My Master on the other hand won't let other computers boot up properly when it is connected to them. Neither of them, however, seem to want to work with my Install Disk or the floppy boot disks.

what your probly going to need to do is do a low level format on the hard dirve. You might have some errors on there that it cant get past.. Here is a good program to do that..
