Hard Drives - [FIXED] - New External HDD posted in the Hardware forums; On the bacj there is just a USB connection (not in use), and 2 Firewire connections, and i tried using both of those w/o an results... nothign in the manual ...

Then it might not have jumpers at all and it's a master by default..

Did you look in the device manager for conflicts as Zimbo suggested? And (updated) fire-wire drivers?

Well i just dont get it. It shows up in Device manager under Disk Drives, but it does not show up under Disk Manager or My Computer. It seems the the compuer knows it is there, knows its a Disk Drive, but wont assign it as a drive...

Got it working. ? It is formattin now.? Joe you were on the right track.? Here is what i did:

1. Unistalled all bundled software
2. restarted comp
3.Went into Disk Manager and it was finally there!
4.Formatting it as we speak!
