Wow, that IS frustrating! Simple and basic question so please no-one shout at me ( :-P ) but is your XP disk completely clean and have you cleaned the CD-Rom drive recently? The fact that the files that are causing the errors keep changing could suggest in-accessibility to the disk itself possibly.

How is the memory different voltage? Have you changed it in the BIOS or is it completely different RAM? Have you the opportunity to try different memory? It could be the root of all your probs.

I think we need some clarity here. JDawg has made 2 very valid points and whilst the first is worth looking at, it is unlikely to be the cause of the problem.

The second point however is worth looking into - is there a possibility that you can borrow an alternative RAM stick to try in the PC, heck, at least it will be another thing we can cross off the list
