4670 but make sure it has a good cooling solution / large fan.

Hello njomi_k
I think I'll side with Amtech on this one, even though I'm using NVIDIA myself.
Below are 2 links you may find useful, I suggest you give the second a thorough reading..

Thx for your replies, I will defenetlly buy HD4670 video card, BUT

meanwhile I have came across this one too
ASUS Radeon HD 4670 1GB GDDR3. And this one has double memory but it's also double slower than HD 4670 512Mb DDR3.

So what do you think? I mean I'm not an expert and I only can read this values and say that card is faster or has more memory, but what is more important and does double memory speed means more than double memory size?

Faster memory is probably better than a higher memory capacity to an extent.

For example you can have 8GB of computer memory but performance wise some faster 2GB or 4GB memory would probably be better.

Also, most desktop users would never actually use all of the 8GB of memory so capacity becomes redundant.

Its a similar story for graphics card memory.

A fast card with 1GB memory would be the best of both worlds. You don't need a card with 2GB of RAM (yet).

I bought a HD 4670 for £56 recently. It was a Gigabyte 1GB DDR3

Basically the memory speed is how quickly the graphics card can process the graphics of the game eg 3d vertices, textures etc. Obviously the faster the better.

Graphics card memory capacity is a little more tricky and depends on the game. Most games will run fine on a 512MB card but every once in a while there's a game like Crysis (and possibly others...I'm no expert on PC games). Crysis has very high requirements and would benefit / might actually require a 1GB graphics card.

So it depends on what game you want to play. Games from this year and before will play fine. For a frame of reference:

I played Oblivion, Fallout and Prototype fine on high settings with a 512MB HD 4670.

But you might want to get a 1GB card "just in case" a new game comes out that requires a 1GB card.

I got one because they were around the same price as 512MB cards and I felt it made more economic sense.

Same is here, 1Gb card is 60 euro's and 512 is 57 euro's

As far as which game's I intent to play, I'm planing to prepare myself for upcoming games like Mafia 2, Max Payne 3, COD5 and such.

Currently I'm playing GTA4 and I think that's similar game engine like ARMA2 and both of them are slow which was very annoying
