I believe this is the right section, or maybe not. Okay, so, I'm sorry, but I can't provide any details, except for mb having an integrated videocard and the pc having XP, since I got it from a friend just now.
When I turn it on, the screen is filled with stripes etc(imagine, that for some reason you're searching for a tv channel and a few HZ off it's frequency it becomes very foggy and unclear) but behind the plethora of distractions one can see icons and the wallpaper. Could it possibly be some kind of compatibility issue between the monitor and the videocard? or maybe I should just somehow navigate to display properties on the desktop?
Also, it's a CRT monitor.
Thanks.

It might look to be working but have you tried hooking it up to a known good working machine.
The quality is only a reflection of what the graphics card puts out. Most times anyway. To me previous beeps would be from the pc regarding a faulty graphics card or memory and the same looks to be applying again on the machine from your friend.

The point I'm making is we both know that your old pc had a hardware issue but what about this latest pc from your friend?
That may have the same problem.

Okay, there's a new twist. I can see the desktop now much more clearly, but it's showing like 8 desktops. The screen is divided in 8 parts and every part shows the lower left part of the dekstop and the right part of the taskbar.
Any help? |
