Default Windows vista artifacts in normal mode

Okay so im a bit concerned about my laptop. When i start it normal mode it loads up to the password login screen and it is either all black or there is heavy artifacts, so many i am unable to see the login.

I am able to run the laptop in safemode (which i am doing now) and i can see things fine. My best guess is that its a graphics issue.

the problem came about when i was oovooing (a skype like program) with my girlfriend and then i got a BSOD error. so here i am

Did you change your video card drivers recently? That would be my guess as to what would cause that. Either that, or a heat issue. Glad you got it fixed though.

I would try updating your skype program since it seems to be involved with the problem.

its not skype. im pretty sure its my webcam. and i guess its not artifacts all tht time... sometimes my screen is mostly black with a lot of white small lines on it.
i gotta figure its not a hardware program since i can use my pc fine in safemode.... as i am now, and after i did that restore it worked perfectly.
i dont know what to do at this point besides a full reformat, which i def dont wana do since my external HD is broken
