Hi :-)
I've posted this in GFX because I think that's the culprit but I'm not 100% sure if its the cause.
The only games i`ve ever used this PC for are World of Warcraft and The Sims 3. Both games crash after a period of time and not in any specific scenarios or locations. The screen freezes exactly as it is, the mouse won't move and after a few seconds the sound starts to loop and make a horrible sound in my ear.
I'm not so good at this but a friend told me to check temperatures using speedfan, which i suspected might be the cause. From this it looks like the highest my GPU temp goes is around 68 degrees C and my CPU never passes 40 degrees and from what i've read that's ok. I've tried googling all my symptoms but i cant find any posts where the exact same thing happens and I can't identify what is wrong.
there's no correlation between how much is happening on screen and when my pc breaks. Eg in 25 man content with lots of animation my FPS might slow down a bit but it wont necessarily crash. It crashes often when playing alone and sometimes once it's crashed it will crash more regularly afterwards, as if its still too hot to function properly. Anyway I'm looking for advice not trying to bore you to death x). Oh I tried disabling in game sound because I heard of that causing problems but that didnt help.
Its about 5 years old now, though the gfx card and mobo are only about 2 years old.
