Graphics - Over clocking possible or necessary? posted in the Hardware forums; I've been looking around at the threads about overclocking and i was wondering if it would be necessary? Or possible i don't know if the cooling system is already up ...

Question Over clocking possible or necessary?

I've been looking around at the threads about overclocking and i was wondering if it would be necessary? Or possible i don't know if the cooling system is already up but ill post it here anyway ..

Type Heatsink and fan
Fan speed 2500RPM
Noise 25dB
Heatsink/Block Material Copper base

My other specs are in PC specs tab .. thanks

As far as I have seen, its not necessary but you can do it. Some mother boards cant do it because they are locked, mine is and my computer immediatly hangs and wont respond up if I do and I know my processor can be clocked from 2.4 to 3.2 with fan cooling but my motherboard wont allow it.. Its kind of risky theres some things like heat which can be a concern and voltages. Graphix cards like my 8800gt can be overclocked or you can buy OC graphix cards. Hope a little input helps

My philosophy:

If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing. If getting a quad core is worth it, then an overclocked quad core is worth it.

My philosophy:

If it ain't broke don't fix it. hehe but of course if you need more speed go for it but standard cooling not so good

Yeah i know thats what my doubts are about the cooling system i do'nt think it could handle it .. Well thanks for the advice guys
