Hi.
Two days ago, my old graph card died. So I decided it was time to update some hardware in my old computer, so I went and bought the ASUS AH3650 graph card, a 1GB memory stick, and a new powersupply (459W).
When I had installed everything, I couldn't start World of Warcraft or Neverwinternights 2 due to the computer restarting itself with no error. Other games, like Dawn of War and The Whitcher, though, was able to run without problems at all.
Since then I've reinstalled all the drivers, and "uninstalled" and reinstalled DirectX a couple of times. Where I am now:
I still have the same problem with the above-mentioned games.
I have (I quite sure) came to the conclusion that it can't be because of sound-drivers being faulty (updated), or because of the PSU (have ran test of checking how much is needed, even removed memory and dvd-player. Also installed a new fan). DirectX diag says there's no errors with the DirectX-files, although it complains about my primary displaydriver(I have a swedish version of Windows, so I'm not sure I'm translating everything correctly) (ati2dvag.dll) not being digitally registered. It also says I should install DirectX to get the latest version (which I've done and re-done too many times)
The DirectDraw test works fine, although the Direct3D test is.. odd. I see the cube spinning, but at like 600miles per hour, so that doesn't work. It did work, though, at first when I had intalled the card, before uninstalling all the drivers and reinstalling them again.
I'm wondering if it is a BIOs problem, or a driver problem.
I'm quite sure there's no problem with the hardware.
I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with overheating.
(I gave up yesterday, so I decided to completely reinstall windows and see if that would fix it, making it guarantee me not having a driver problem - but it doesn't work either. I guess there could be a problem with my CDs, but it could also be a BIOS problem, right?)
Ah well.
Greatful for answers.
