Can someone help me?

The problem that im having now is that my Nvidia 8600GT 512mb card doesn't want to be updated any more.

I had no problems, when i first installed all with vista H.P. ver. but had the card update throught the net, while running a 1st update. Didnt actually use the install cd that came with the vga card. I uninstall that undate version cos Gears of war [PC] wasn't running right so i download the up-to-date version of the vga card and now in the middle of installing the DL. version of the update screen goes blank. I've even tried to install the CD version too.it just doesn't wanna be installed.

I've even done the same with XP...nothing??

if you VGA is onboard then you may have to got into the BIOS and make a change there from onboard to to video card

When you go into Device Manager under "display adapters", what does it say? You should download this driver, uninstall your video hardware from device manager, restart your computer, and then install the driver. Then restart again.

The mobo that im using is a MSI P4M900M2-F / L. I've gone into the bios and then into cmos features, where i can see the VGA option ticked to EGA/VGA the other options are CGA 40, CGA 80 + MONO. not sure at what to do here as i didnt do anything to this option at the beginning.

Did you uninstall the existing drivers prior to the update ?

You should be able to do this via the Control Panel -> Programs and Features.

Once removed, reboot and the card will be detected and the new drivers can be installed.

You might also want to look at this as an option to clean up after removing the drivers and before installing the new drivers.

I've even tried your method but no result.
at the middle of the installation for the vga card the screen goes blank and all i can see is a white dash blinkingon the left top hand coner on the screen.
Like i said to 7SeVeN7 about the onboard vga. I cant see any info in the manual about how to turn the onboard vga but when installing vista H.P. it downloaded the drives for the 8800GT card.
